Tsunami Disaster As everyone now knows, a big area in Asia was affected by a tsunami created by an earthquake in the Indian Ocean. Please spare a thought for the thousands of affected people, people without homes, food, clothes, people who have lost everything, who have lost those they loved dearly. Just the mere thought of losing my parents and sisters brings tears to my eyes, I don't want to imagine what it must be like to actually loose them. If you want to donate some money, please see the below link for instructions: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/4131881.stm I can only pray that the survivors will find the strength to go on. The international community should be applauded for the speed and generosity with which it reacted this disaster, because whatever their reasons, they have made live better for the millions of affected people. Let's hope the world will stay united, as it is now, for years to come. That this will be the start of an era of peace and giving and friendship, and not war. Let's hope that people on opposite sides of religion will see the other side with new eyes, and realise that the enemy isn't nessaccarily evil. And lastly, my good wishes for the year of 2005 to all of you. I hope that 2005 will end as well as 2004 did, because even though this great disaster has taken many loved ones away from us, it has also taught us about human compassion, and how much of it we have inside us all, it has brought the world together for maybe the 1st time in history in a way that defines the term "humanity". This is what makes us human, the ability to care, to think rationally, and to act with compassion, even though there is no benefit in it for ourselves. All my love. Regards |
